Support for Girl Guides NT Incorporated.

Girl Guides is a not for profit organisation and is supported by efforts of parents, interested parties and other organisations that provide their time to help fundraise in support.  People and organisations have provided time and/or goods and services at reduced costs to benefit our organisation and one main group that helps with Guiding is our Trefoil Guild Members.

Trefoil Guild are retired Guides who wish to actively participate and support Girl Guides.  They meet regularly and participate in organised fundraising activities.  We have two Trefoil Guilds in the Northern Territory – Central Australia Trefoil Guild, located in Alice Springs and Northern Australia Trefoil Guild, located in Darwin, Northern Territory.

Support Groups – These are another way of receiving support from family members and other members of our community that may not be able to give many hours, but give dedicated hours of support to Guiding. They help provide fundraising to support the core activities of Girl Guides in the District through various activities as well as maintaining the Guide equipment and halls that the girls meet in each week. We have a support group located in Alice Springs that meets regularly on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the Alice Springs Guide Hall at 7pm. For more information please email the support group on or view their website on  (see link below).  You can view their calendar & events page with up to date information.

Members of our community in both the public and private sector have provided substantial ongoing support to Guiding in the Northern Territory, which recognises the success of our organisation.

In 2014 Girl Guides Northern Territory have had renovations at Alice Springs Guide Hall and we would like to acknowledge the Supporters and Community for their help in contributing to these renovations.  All supporters can be found on their website at   (or click on the link below)

We have had renovations to Monkani and Parap Guide Hall and we would like to acknowledge these supporters for their contributions that have been made for both of these Halls.

We have had a hall in Humpty Doo, which was a shared Community hall burn down. Whilst we are still looking to re-house our Guides on a permanent basis, we have to thank both the Humpty Doo Fire Brigade for initially housing us and St Francis of Assisi School for housing our Guide units at the present time.

Tennant Creek Guide Hall is in major need of pulling down and rebuilding and currently the Guides meet at the Tennant Creek Show Grounds.  We need to thank both the Show Grounds for helping to house the Guides at Tennant Creek currently and the Tennant Creek High School for helping to house Guides for a number of years whilst the hall has been inhabitable.

With the valuable support from local community members it has been made possible to continue with Guiding in the Northern Territory and to help Grow Guiding and continue to support our Guides and Leaders on the ground.

Special Thank you’s from Alice Springs –

Hon Robyn Jane Lambley MLA, Hon Matthew (Matt) Escott Conlan MLA, Jodeen Carney, Richard Lim

The Guide Hall renovations were made possible by the NT Government and Finke Desert Race grants and funds, with work preformed by the principal contractor Probuild NT, Alice Kitchens and Cabinets (cabinets donated), Carla Furnishes and proudly managed by the Girl Guides – Alice Springs Support Group.  We would also like to recognise in-kind support from: Alice Springs Family Day Care, Girl Guides NT Inc. Guide families, District Guides and Leaders, and many more.

Leadership Development camp was made possible through NT Government and Alice Springs Support Group funds, with in kind support by individuals and businesses in Alice Springs.  Over 200 Guides, Leaders and family members from throughout the NT benefitted from this Leadership Development Camp, which included activities in the Alice Springs District organised by Guides and Leaders in the Northern Territory.

Previous Years –

Our close association with the Finke Desert Race each year, and the Masters Games every other year, allows us to fund some of our big ticket items such as the Guide Hall renovation, toilet mobility access renovation, kitchen renovation, Railway Hut renovations and driveway, paving & external lighting, with a new travel fund derived from future Masters Games fundraising, and major contributions from the Camel Cup Committee.

The Alice Springs Town Council, through funding of the kitchen renovation, window security and electrical upgrades, computer, printer and Mobility Access funding toward improvement of our Girl Guide property.

We would also like to recognise our supporters in the Local and NT Government, who have strongly supported our funding applications through the years.  The most recent successes being funding for ongoing Mobility Access improvements through the ASTC, Older Guide – Hut renovations through grants made available by the NT Office of Youth Affairs, and the Racing Gaming and Licensing – Community Benefit Fund.
